Radio 2 pays tribute to blues musician and broadcaster Alexis Korner (1928-84), who is seen as the catalyst for the 1960s British blues explosion that greatly influenced the Rolling Stones, the Animals, Led Zeppelin and many others. This edition looks at Korner's key role in the early-1960s rhythm and blues scene, including his forming of the Blues Incorporated (featuring future R&B-rock giants), and his activities at the small, murky basement Ealing Club, where Eric Burdon , Keith Richards , Brian Jones , Eric Clapton , Graham Bond , Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce made some of their formative appearances.
