Performances from the Brodsky Quartet bookend this programme, which they open with Mendelssohn's Fugue from Four Pieces, Op. 81 and finish with Shostakovich's String Quartet No. 8 which the composer dedicated to the "Victims of Fascism and War". The centrepiece is pianist Víkingur Ólafsson with a selection of Études by Philip Glass to celebrate the composer's 80th birthday earlier this year.
