|A sound-picture of twenty-four hours in the Casualty Department of a large hospital|
Gaenor Thomas recently spent twenty-four hours following and recording events in a casualty department of a large teaching hospital. Using the microphone as an eavesdropper, she was able to talk to many people who are involved in running this essential service and to some of the patients themselves.
The programme captures the changing atmosphere of the casualty department where so many different cases are admitted during the day and night. One person who worked there said that ' this is a place where you are either rushed off your feet or bored to tears.'
