Comedy Greats

First broadcast from 20040712 to 20070120. (* = BBC7).

Comic legend Barry Cryer presents a brand new series as, decade by decade, he discovers the best of BBC radio's comedy goldmine.

  • The Sixties Part 2 was taken from the schedule due to rights issues for one of the programmes, no idea which it was; for later broadcasts The Sixties Part 1 was renamed The Sixties.
  • Also listed as "Barry Cryer's Comedy Greats", which would have suggested a programme about him.
  • I've seen two lists of programmes for "The Noughties - Part 1" - the different programmes are The Small World of Dominic Holland in one, and Mitch Benn's Crimes Against Music in the other.
  • Each episode starts with a snippet of a song representing the decade, and ends with the song for the next decade.
