   2002082320020825Investigative series with John Waite
Coca Cola And India2003072520030727John Waite investigates allegations that Coca Cola, the world's largest soft drinks manufacturer, is causing environmental damage to tribal villages in India. [Rptd Sun, 9.00pm]
2003080120030803John Waite investigates the man behind a fundraising company which pocketed millions of pounds donated to a Scottish cancer charity. [Rptd Sun, 9.00pm]
2003080820030810John Waite investigates how people who bought property on the south coast discovered their locks had been changed and their investment had effectively disappeared. Should more be done to protect such property owners from smart and unscrupulous landlords?
2003081520030817John Waite investigates a new heart valve that has been linked to a number of deaths and medical complications among patients in which it was fitted, and which critics claim was introduced on the UK market before it had been adequately tested. He hears from some of those affected and presses the company and the government on why warnings about the valve appeared to have gone unheeded for so long.
English Language Schools2003082220030824John Waite investigates the largely unregulated world of English language schools in the UK and finds a billion pound industry in which unscrupulous businessmen are left free to exploit students and staff alike in the search for an easy profit.
Dying Because Of Making Nuclear Warheads2003082920030831John Waite investigates the plight of men who helped make Britain's nuclear warheads and many of whom are now dying in silence because of the jobs they did. [Rpt of Fri 12.30pm]
20040829 John Waite and his team of investigators follow up listeners' complaints.
2005072220050724John Waite investigates the global battle being waged over precious water sources and the companies seeking to exploit them. He travels to Brazil to look at the effect on a beautiful spa resort after Nestlé decided to produce a bottled water in the area.
Vioxx2005072920050731John Waite investigates the anti-arthritis drug Vioxx, which was hailed as a breakthrough in pain relief but had to be withdrawn because of concerns about side effects.
200508052005080712 years ago Face the Facts investigated a businessman accused of, amongst other things, stealing Rolls Royces and setting up a bogus international air ambulance service which left a London NHS Hospital £400,000 out of pocket. After serving time for fraud he's back in business - running a funeral parlour with an unusual sideline - private ambulance work. The outcomes for those who do business with him are all too predictable.
20050814 Face the Facts investigates an explosion in a Scottish plastics factory and the death of nine workers. John Waite reveals allegations of official complacency about conditions at the site, which was labelled by one insider as a disaster waiting to happen. The explosion in the Glasgow plant was the worst industrial accident in Scotland since Piper Alpha and left 40 workers seriously injured. To this day they and relatives of those who died, say they have had no justice.
John Waite reveals how before the explosion, workers had reported concerns about conditions at the plant to managers and subsequently to Health and Safety officials. According to some, the warnings went largely unheeded.
2005081920050821In one year, south Lincolnshire police investigated two murders and an organised heroin ring. But in each case millions of pounds worth of taxpayers' money was wasted as the prosecutions collapsed, not through lack of evidence, but because of police wrong-doing.
Face the Facts looks at the world of covert surveillance and what went wrong.
2005082620050828John Waite investigates the four privately run institutions set up to deal with offenders - some of whom are as young as twelve. Concerns have been raised about Secure Training Centres since they first opened in 1998. Back then there were reports of high staff turnover, children out of control and overuse of physical restraint. How much has changed?
Return Of The Lump2006072120060723Thousands of eastern Europeans are working in Britain's building trade, many being paid cash-in-hand, which means they don't qualify for pensions or benefits. It's a phenomenon which has echoes of the 1950s and 1960s when tens of thousands of Irish workers did exactly the same.
While some made their fortune, others are the Lost Generation - living out their old age in inadequate bedsits, if they have a home at all. John Waite investigates.

2006080420060806John Waite goes to the north east coast of Scotland where there are concerns that dredging of the harbour is leading to rapid erosion of a nearby beach. Many conclude that there is too little regulation of dredging in UK ports.
2006081120060813A probe into the collapse of a property company which left small businesses, landlords and some of Britain's largest pension funds with losses running into millions of pounds. Although backed up by a glossy brochure claiming it had millions in the bank, John Waite reveals the truth behind a business based as much on fiction as fact.
2006081820060820John Waite investigates how Britain's biggest supermarket chain has fallen foul of British planning laws.
2006082520060827John Waite investigates allegations of serious failings in the care of older people at homes run by one of Britain's biggest care home providers.
2007072020070722, RptofFri12.30pmJohn Waite investigates the dangers faced by local interpreters who work for British and US forces in Iraq. Seen as collaborators by some of their compatriots, more than 300 have been killed. Some are in hiding for fear of their lives, claiming that their pleas for help remain unanswered.
2007072720070729, RptofFri12.30pmJohn Waite reveals how some of the most serious workplace injuries are not being investigated.
   2007080320070805
2007081020070812John Waite investigates a company at the heart of efforts to clean up the image of the private parking industry.
2007081720070819John Waite investigates allegations of waste and mismanagement in the government's New Deal for Communities initiative.
2007082420070826John Waite investigates claims that children are being put up for adoption in order to meet government targets.
20070915 John Waite investigates the dangers faced by local interpreters who work for British and US forces in Iraq. Seen as collaborators by some of their compatriots, an estimated 250 have been killed. Some are in hiding for fear of their lives, claiming that their pleas for help remain unanswered. Mounting pressure has forced the Government to review whether they should be offered asylum in Britain.
Trouble In Paradise 20080720 British property owners in Goa fear they may lose their homes in a backlash against foreign investment in the Indian state.
Bye Buy-to-let20080727 He reports on a property club apparently set up to support buy-to-let investors, which now stands accused of selling over-valued properties that could never attract the rental income promised.
The Promised Land20080803 John investigates the business of selling small plots of land to investors with the promise of a return of 400 per cent on their outlay. The scheme assumes the land will one day get planning permission, but instead thousands of people are left with a ridiculously expensive picnic site. Financial regulators are trying to crack down on the practice.
Illegal Disclosure? 20080810 The Criminal Records Bureau exists solely to help protect children or vulnerable adults from workers who may pose a risk to them. But John meets some job candidates who claim to have suffered discrimination when potential employers use criminal record checks to obtain information to which they have no right of access.
The Dyslexia Dilemma 20080817 He investigates a controversial treatment that claims to have helped tens of thousands of people with learning difficulties. Insiders tell of their concerns over the way courses were sold, and others question the research the company relies on to show that the treatment works.
06 LASTAid College20080824 John investigates the college which claims to train people in international development and equip them with the skills to work in the developing world. He reports on a walk-out by the students and looks at allegations that they are made to work to keep clothes recycling companies going.
204C01The Hidden Cost Of The Olympics2004072320040725John Waite exposes the hidden cost of this year's Olympic Games, with many workers killed or seriously injured in the race to build Greece's Olympic dream.
204C02 2004073020040801, RptofFri12.30pmJohn Waite explores claims that Europe's largest army barracks in Catterick, North Yorkshire, has a hidden death toll which families are finding particularly difficult to come to terms with because of the secrecy and lack of information provided.
One weekend in April 2000, twenty year old Allan Sharples visited his family and fiancee before returning laughing and joking back to the army life he loved at Catterick Barracks. Within twenty-four hours he was dead, apparently having shot himself. The post mortem said he had finished with his girlfriend, an assertion which Sharples' fiancee strenuously denies.

John Waite exposes the hidden death toll and the reasons behind it at Europe's largest army barracks in Catterick, North Yorkshire. Deaths which families find particularly difficult to come to terms with because of secrecy and the lack of information they receive.

204C05 2004082020040822This week John Waite investigates people who have been persecuted by animal rights protestors - not for being cruel to animals, or for conducting animal experiments but for doing business with people who have.
