The true story of Monica Baldwin who, having entered a closed order of nuns in 1914 a few months before the beginning of the First World War, emerged 28 years later during the Blitz, into a world changed beyond belief from the one she had left. In the intervening period, she had not read a newspaper, seen a photograph or heard the radio.
