The Magic Bus

The Magic Bus tells the story of some of the thousands of people who took the Overland Trail from Europe via Istanbul, India and on to Kathmandu. Presented by Lonely Planet founder Tony Wheeler, the programme hears from some of the hippies, intrepids , freaks and travellers who set out on buses, coaches and trucks to find adventure- and themselves- along the way. We'll hear the soundtrack of those 60's and 70's experiences including the Byrds, Bob Dylan, Supertramp, Steely Dan, Joni Mitchell, Donovan and of course, the Beatles.

The story of those who took the overland trail from Europe via Istanbul to Kathmandu.
