In The Male Room we ask men to reflect on their own experiences and behaviour; to talk about what it's like to be a man, be it about fatherhood, inadequacy, anger, violence or dating. The result is a series of conversations that men don't often have on air.

To kick us off on Valentine's Night, we navigate the often delicate world of modern world of dating. Justin Myers who blogs as 'The Guyliner' tells Olly how dating apps have changed the dating landscape, why he doesn't believe in romance, and shares some his own experiences. Neuroscientist Dean Burnett gives the lowdown on the fundamental differences between the male and female brain. Mike Bullen, the writer of 'Cold Feet' talks about why middle-aged singletons are such a strong trope of his work, and the Male Room Millennials talk about why behaviour on dates, exit strategies and the issues around consent and one-night stands.

Martin Daubney is the former Editor of lads-mag 'Loaded' and went on to form the 'Men & Boys Coalition'. He thinks we're focusing disproportionately on the bad stories, and that we need to stress the behaviour of decent guys and set positive examples of masculinity for each other and our children. Deborah Frances-White from 'The Guilty Feminist' podcast explains that it doesn't matter why male behaviour is changing in the wake of #metoo, as long as does. Chris Hemmings, author of 'Be a Man' talks about the misogynist drunken culture that was rampant in his University rugby club, why he turned his back on it, and how he sees it as part of the Weinstein culture. The Male Room Millennials talk about how it has led them to reassess themselves, and each other.
