She couldn't afford a bus fare, so walked for four hours a day to get to and from college. After vowing to her family that she'd never leave Mumbai - the city she grew up in and adored - she fell head over heels for British born Ami and packed her bags to begin a new life with him in Birmingham. A classical Indian dancer and dentist, she teaches Jeremy some of her moves and gives his teeth the once-over. Along the way, he hears everything from Bollywood showstoppers to Hindu spiritual songs. Martha Musonza Holman was a geography teacher in her native Zimbabwe, but fled to the UK a decade ago, after men loyal to President Mugabe accused her of teaching politics and threatened her life.
