The very first edition of My Music.

Steve Race tests the musical knowledge of two teams consisting of David Franklin [opera singer and broadcaster] with Frank Muir, and Ian Wallace [opera singer and actor] with Denis Norden. Muir and Norden were longtime friends and comedy writing partners.

My Music originated on radio and ran, with the occasional hiatus, from January 1967 to January 1994, spanning 29 series and numerous specials. Conceptually, the programme followed in the pattern of the literary quiz, My Word!.

The TV adaptation ran for seven series on BBC2 from 1977 to 1983.

Devised by Tony Shryane and Edward J Mason, who also set the questions.

Producer: Tony Shryane.

First broadcast on the BBC Home Service in January 1967.
