The final programme in the series is presented by Trevor Nelson, who joined Radio 1 in 1996 where he presented the UK's first ever national R'n'B show - Trevor Nelson's Rhythm Nation.
The UK tried hard to export Britpop to the States with little success, but us Brits couldn't resist the R'n'B and hip hop they sent us in return including such landmark albums as CrazySexyCool by TLC and The Score by Fugees.
Using interviews originally recorded for Radio 1 and the Rhythm Nation, Trevor talks to Lauryn Hill of the Fugees and R Kelly about their massively influential music, and there's also a reminder of the success that Michael Jackson and Prince had. Trevor is joined by Jan Kincaid of The Brand New Heavies whose albums Brother Sister and Shelter certainly weren't Britpop, yet struck a chord with music fans in the UK and further afield.
Trevor Nelson looks at the vibrant R&B and Hip Hop scene that ran parallel with Britpop.
