02 20051206Lassus was an extraordinarily well-travelled composer. He was born in Mons in Belgium, and subsequently visited Fontainebleu, Mantua, Milan, Naples, Florence, Rome, possibly England, Antwerp, before settling for the last 30 years of his life in Munich.
Donald Macleod and Jeremy Summerly discuss the extent of Lassus' travels, and his remarkable skill with language, something Lassus exploited in his career.
