John Adams At 5019970719The American composer John Adams, who is 50 this year, talks about the development of his music from early minimalist roots to a style which is distinctive in its openness to every variety of music - American and European, old and new, high art and pop.

With contributions from many of his collaborators and friends, including conductors Edo de Waart, Michael Tilson Thomas and Sir Simon Rattle, director Peter Sellars, poets Alice Goodman and June Jordan, violinist Nicholas Kraemer, and orchestral players from the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra.
