Her latest, Familia, returned her to the charts and the dancefloor this year with songs spanning disco and pop with a latin-american flavour. Singer-songwriter Boo Hewerdine first came to fame in the 1980s with his band The Bible and is a long-established solo artist who?s worked with the likes of Chris Difford and Eddi Reader. One of the UK's finest writers, Boo will be playing a unique selection from his songbook for the Quay Sessions audience.

This week Roddy Hart welcomes two renowned musicians from Scotland's contemporary folk music scene, both exclusively previewing music from their forthcoming albums. Acclaimed and innovative singer/songwriter Alasdair Roberts will be performing original songs from his latest album Pangs with his band. Meanwhile, Siobhan Miller, who has twice been named Singer Of The Year at The Scots Trad Music Awards, will showcase songs from her second solo album Strata. Strata features a diverse array of traditional and contemporary songs reflecting her musical upbringing.

Roddy Hart welcomes Barbara Dickson and Alice Marra and The Gaels Blue Orchestra to The Quay Sessions.

Barbara Dickson needs no introduction! A multi-million selling recording artist who continues to release music and tour, she'll be making her debut appearance in the intimate setting of The Quay Sessions. Her career spans 5 decades, from her start on the folk circuits with the likes of Gerry Rafferty and Billy Connolly to her huge success in the theatre and receiving an OBE for services to Music and Drama. Expect a very special set!

Also performing on the night will be Alice Marra, of Dundonian indie-popsters The Hazey Janes. Alice will be showcasing her solo album Chain Up The Swings. Celebrating the musical legacy of her late father, the much-loved Michael Marra, Alice will perform classic and rare songs written by him and played with some of his original Gaels Blue Orchestra.

Roddy Hart presents performances from Pictish Trail and The Little Kicks.

Previously part of the influential Fife Fence Collective with King Creosote, Pictish Trail now runs his musical empire, Lost Map Records, from the Hebridean Isle Of Eigg. He's also responsible for the island's successful music festival Howlin' Fling. He'll bring his full band with him to perform songs from his critically-acclaimed third album Future Echoes.

Also playing will be Aberdeen band The Little Kicks, who'll be showcasing their latest album Shake Off Your Troubles. The quartet have shared stages with the likes of Frightened Rabbit, Twin Atlantic and Foals and have been supported by Vic Galloway and BBC Introducing.
