Celebrating 35 Years Of Phantom Of The Opera20211226In this two-hour documentary, star of stage and screen Luke Evans celebrates 35 years of the hit musical Phantom of the Opera. He looks back at the original production with its epic songs, theatrical effects, set and costume design, choreography and captivatingly complicated storyline. The programme features interviews with some of the key cast and crew who ensured the musical kept bringing back audiences time and time again.

Following an upheaval that no-one could have predicted, listeners will hear from the current company and discover how Phantom returned with a vengeance following the Covid lockdown. Listeners will join them at the show's 35th anniversary performance at its home in Her Majesty's Theatre, London, and discover how Cameron Mackintosh and Andrew Lloyd Webber led the way in the early days by joining forces, and how their paths still cross 35 years into possibly the most iconic musical ever.

Amanda Holden joins Sheridan for a spine-tingling duet from Chess; Michael Ball belts out Hairspray's ‘You Can't Stop the Beat' and there's even a sneak-peek at a beautiful new track from Andrew Lloyd-Webber's next big show, Cinderella.
