Internationally renowned DJ, producer, artist and composer Moby takes listeners on a track-by-track account of his acclaimed album Play.

20 years after its release, Moby talks about the making of the record, how he found the samples he used and why it struck such a chord globally, leading to over nine million worldwide sales.

In this programme, he talks about his failings as a musician, how Gwen Stefani came to sing on the album and the grief he suffered after his mother's death. He also talks openly about how no one wanted to sign the album, and gives a fascinating insight into the music industry at the time and why he thinks the album proved so popular.

The album Play was released in 1999 and includes tracks such as Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad, Porcelain, Natural Blues and Honey. Jamiroquai's frontman Jay Kay mixes an hour of tunes which have influenced his songwriting, performance & style - featuring Stevie Wonder, Jimi Hendrix, Candi Staton and his mum!

Jamiroquai formed 30 years ago and have sold over 25 million records. Their third album, Travelling Without Moving (1996), received a Guinness World Record as the best-selling funk album in history. The music video for its lead single, 'Virtual Insanity', also contributed to the band's success. The song was named Video of the Year at the 1997 MTV Video Music Awards and earned the band a Grammy Award in 1998.

Jamiroquai's Jay Kay mixes an hour of tunes which have influenced his songwriting.
