After many years of being an enigma and proving most reluctant to talk in public, last year Bob Dylan amazed his fans by agreeing to become that most public and talkative of creatures: a radio DJ.

He recorded a number of shows for an American radio station and the BBC has secured the rights to broadcast them for the first time in the UK.

Each show has a theme and can be seen as a return to Bob's roots of listening to the radio and hearing the songs and artists that went on to influence him and shape his own music.

Tonight's theme is Jail and Bob has chosen songs by the likes of Johnny Cash, Magic Sam, John Prine, The Sir Douglas Quintet and Wanda Jackson.
