Alison Short features listeners' letters on almost any subject.

One listener writes about the recent Tube crash: What really got me was the way reporters described the rescue of the driver as being by " three most unlikely rescuers ".

' Why were they unlikely? Were they zombies? Were they asleep at the time of the crash? Were they on another station? No - they were skinheads, and by putting boots and braces on, they then became " unlikely rescuers ". Had those lads been in suits with collar and tie, carried a briefcase and worn a bowler hat, would they have been the " proper " heroes in the rescue? '
