Adam Marek is the award-winning writer of two short story collections - 'Instruction Manual For Swallowing' and 'The Stone Thrower'. He won the 2011 Arts Foundation Short Story Fellowship and was shortlisted for the inaugural Sunday Times EFG Short Story Award. His stories have appeared in many magazines, including Prospect and The Sunday Times Magazine, and in many anthologies such as Lemistry, Biopunk and The Best British Short Stories 2011. Five of Adam's published stories were broadcast on Radio 4Extra as 'The Stories Of Adam Marek' in March 2014

Toby Litt was born in 1968 and grew up in Bedfordshire. In 2003, he was named one of Granta's Best of Young British Novelists. His stories 'The Melancholy' (2010), 'People Carry Roses' (2011) and 'The Sandy' (2012) featured in previous Sweet Talk series for BBC Radio 4. His latest collection of short stories 'Life-Like' will be published in November 2014.

About Time' by Tania Hershman

A writer's research for a story about time machines takes him in some unusual directions.

Tania Hershman is the author of two story collections - 'My Mother Was An Upright Piano: Fictions' and 'The White Road and Other Stories'. Her award-winning short stories and poetry have been widely published in print and online and broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and 4. Tania is founder and curator of ShortStops, celebrating short story activity across the UK and Ireland. She is a Royal Literary Fund fellow at the faculties of science at Bristol University and is studying for a PhD in Creative Writing at Bath Spa University, exploring the intersection between fiction and particle physics. She is co-writer and editor of Writing Short Stories: A Writers' and Artists' Companion which will be published in December 2014.
