Sol Plaatje - South Africa's Renaissance Man


19991009Mike Popham tells the story of Sol T Plaatje, was one of the most gifted black South Africans of the early 20th century who made outstanding contributions to literature and journalism and was a founder member of the ANC and its first secretary-general. He wrote a diary of the Siege of Mafeking - the only account by an African - which was rediscovered in the 1960s.
