Tony Graham is a single paediatric nurse. A pillar of the community, Tony spends his free time running a local football team for the young children in his area. Late one night he finds a fourteen year old teenager called Darrell Campbell lying drunk by the roadside. Being a perpetual father figure he decides to try and help but the boy becomes angry and abusive so Tony is forced to take him to the police station.
The next morning two police officers appear at Tony's door. They inform him that Darrell has made an allegation that Tony plied him with alcohol and then molested him. Outraged at the allegation Tony returns to work to discover that Darrell's father has sold his story to a local newspaper. As a result Tony is put on suspension. To make matters worse when the parents of the children in his football team read the story he is ordered to stay away from them.
