6M 20130628Tom has another 20-minute guest mix.
6MGuest Mix From Mood Rings20130913Tom's guest mix comes courtesy of Atlanta's dreamy post punk band Mood Rings. Their first album, VPI Harmony, was released on Mexican Summer Records in June this year.
Ravers only plays great music, normally before anyone else has clapped their ears on it too! So enjoy the tunes as Tom acts as the conduit for your Friday night vibes. There's also a new pen-pal to meet, a grubby 45 from Tom's loft, and can you guess the year of the Tom Capsule?
6MGuest Mix From Clark20130920Warp artist Clark provides the guest mix, while Tom channels the Friday night vibes and tunes...while opening a new Tom Capsule, and dropping another musical charity shop find.
Chris Clark's meticulous production style makes much use of manipulated live drum samples, which are used to construct complex beats. His new double album Feast / Beast is released this week and features remixes by and for Clark, alongside a number of original tracks. Clark is sending the mix over from Berlin - so a work of quality is guaranteed!
6MGuest Mix From Gary Numan20131004Electronic pioneer Gary Numan, who is back with his 20th studio album 'Splinter (songs From A Broken Mind)',
provides the guest mix - it also contains a cute surprise in the middle!
Jon provides the Friday night fun in the shape of a Jon Capsule - can you guess the year? Plus a listener's Charity Drop, and a Grubby 33 - where Jon brings in an album from home and plays a track for your vinyl delight and delectation.
6MGuest Mix From Raffertie20131011Composer, DJ, and Producer, Raffertie, known to his mum and the passport office as Benjamin Stefanski, provides the Guest Mix. Plus The Charity Drop, Grubby 45, and a Tom Capsule.
On graduating in 2010 from Birmingham Conservatoire with a degree in Classical and Contemporary Music Composition, Raffertie had already become established in the world of electronic music. Recognised for performances filled with a dynamic energy that saw him play across Europe from clubs Fabric to Space, as well as festivals Glastonbury and Bestival, expect a Friday night mix full of good vibes.
6MGuest Mix From East India Youth20131018East India Youth provides the Guest Mix, and Tom channels the Friday night vibes and tunes.
William Doyle, a 22-year-old multi-instrumentalist from Bournemouth, cut his teeth in indie group Doyle And The Fourfathers while still a teenager. Growing tired of the band format and frustrated with the slow progress of the group he ventured out on his own. He now produces a mixture of dark Detroit techno, lo-fi psychedelic noise rock, deeply romantic Pet Shop Boys-esque synth pop and ramshackle avant-electronica. Naming himself East India Youth after the location of his flat in London's Docklands, he released the Hostel EP earlier in the year and we predict great things!
6M 20131025More mind-blowing tunes, and dry wit, from the Rave Dog to accompany your Friday night in. Plus a special guest mix, vibe mapping, The Charity Drop (where a listener shares a musical charity shop bargain), a Grubby 45 that Tom has brought in from home, and the Tom Capsule - can you guess the year?
