And the play's the thing - in this instance a special production of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' put on to mark INDIA's Independence Day.

Things go horribly wrong when Michael Forsyth, the leading actor playing Oberon is kidnapped, only to reappear in time to play his part.

But he disappears again before the end, and is found shot dead in the green room by Nila Singh his famous Pakistani wife playing Titania.

To make matters worse, it's rumoured that their marriage is on the rocks.

The writer Mahesh Dattani is one of the most respected of INDIAn playwrights.

He's written numerous radio and stage plays, including the screenplay for 'Ek Alag Mausam' the first HINDI film to deal with HIV and AIDS.

His most recent venture is his debut as director of Mango Souffle, the film version of his critically acclaimed play 'On A Muggy Night In Mumbai.' Cast includes: Uma....Priyanga Elan Suresh....Ajay Chhabra Nila....Souad Faress Feroz....Akbar Kurtha Malik....Kaleem Janjua Liam....Gerard Mcdermott Michael....Stephen Critchlow
