Pianist Evgeny Kissin has been described as ''the finest Russian-born Beethovenian since Emil Gilels'' and he plays the mighty 'Hammerklavier' in today's concert, combining this with a pair of Preludes by Rachmaninov.

Today, the Pavel Haas Quartet perform music by Martinu and they are joined by viola player Lars Anders Tomter for Dvorak's Quintet in E flat, Op 97. Following that, a look ahead to tomorrow's concert with a Chopin mazurka performed by pianist Nikolai Lugansky.
