20050512In 1960 the pupils of Walbottle East Secondary Modern in the industrial North East of England were just 15 years old, but it was already time to leave school and start work.

Forty-five years later they are reunited for a party.

Eric Robson asks how well the school prepared these sons and daughters of coal miners and manual workers for a rapidly changing world.

He finds out how their lives matched up to the school's expectations.
